My name is Pavel Pětroš (1980) and I come from the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. I've been photographing since around 2000, first with a Canon 450 and later a Nikon D50, exploring whatever caught my eye. Since 2012, I've been working more seriously on photographic series, capturing the moments and places that speak to me.

I photograph a variety of subjects – the streets of Ostrava and Frýdek-Místek, the quiet corners of central Moravia around Kojetín, and people in their environment, whether on the street or in the countryside. My work includes documentary photography, and some images carry a subtle melancholy, often in blurred scenes. I frequently explore shadows, shapes, and the play of light.

I don't limit myself to one style. Sometimes I work in black and white, other times in color – always following what best expresses the light and feeling that catch my attention. I shoot digitally, using an Olympus OMD EM-10 II, and I enjoy letting the world surprise me.

Photography, for me, is a way of seeing the world and holding on to its moods.
